About VASEA

Virtual Assistants South East Asia: Filipino talent for US home care.

Our mission

Help US Medicaid home care agencies spend less time on admin and more on caring for clients, while creating good remote work opportunities for Filipino professionals.

Our founder

MJ Vergara, Founder & CEO

MJ Vergara is the Founder and CEO of VASEA, based in the Philippines (business registration in progress). Before founding VASEA, MJ spent nearly two decades in customer support, starting in call centers and moving through technical support, network operations, and recruitment, serving US clients throughout.

When the pandemic moved him to working from home, MJ saw the opportunity in virtual assistance and freelancing. As a dad, he wanted to be home with his wife and kids and give them a better future than the one he had to fight for. In previous roles as a virtual assistant, MJ handled sales and social media and caregiver and client scheduling, and supported payroll for more than 4,000 employees.

That hands-on experience in home care operations is why he started VASEA: to connect US home care agencies, including those serving Medicaid waiver programs such as SFC and CCSP, with Filipino virtual assistants that VASEA screens and trains. Because he has done the work himself, MJ knows what makes a remote team member succeed and what US agencies need from their support staff.

MJ also serves as VASEA's Data Protection Officer, overseeing how client information is protected. VASEA is not affiliated with or endorsed by any state Medicaid agency or program.

Why the Philippines

Strong English, a service culture, healthcare experience and a time-zone setup that can cover US business hours.
